Halfway

Its already halfway through my first semester. very exciting, but also a reminder that I still have the rest of the semester. I think i'm doing pretty well in most of my classes. my math grade is finally at an ok grade since my first test grade was very bad. by the end of the semester it should be super!

So I've decided not to do the dorms next semester. I'm not financially ready, but I have a very nice set up where I am. (i am so lucky to have a brother and sister in law that will let me live with them) at some point i'll get my own place closer to school. i was also thinking of getting a laptop. i'll be browsing alot before getting one and maybe wait until after christmas (hint hint wink wink) there will be a lot of end of the year sales.

One thing that i can not wait for is thanksgiving. hopefully i'll get to come home. its one thing i've been looking forward to all semester. that and christmas. its kinda funny, before i left i wasnt even sure if i wanted to come home for holidays and now i'm counting down the days untill they come. i guess that there is no place like home.

I'm still technology changellenged with this computer, so my pictures will be stuck on my camera for awhile.

Things I Miss About New Mexico

1. The weather (it definately wouldnt be snowing in September)

2. The food. (I miss golden pride breakfast burritos and juan's broken taco)

3. Having a Target close by, or anything else for that matter.

4. Lexie (she is just too dang cute!)

5. The rest of my family in NM

6. Sandia ward (and people in Eldorado ward)

7. old friends

8. The mountains and how the sun sets on them (the mountains here dont do that)

9. Movies 8 (best movie theatre ever!)

10. Not having to worry about a clean room 24/7

11. Having a reliable internet connection at home

12. Balloon Fiesta season. Thats when it starts to get chilly, and its cool to drive around and see bazillion hot air balloons in the sky.

13. An easy to find camera shop (I'm stocking up when I go home)

14. The Albuquerque Temple. (sure there a tons in the Salt Lake Valley, but that one is special to me)

I feel so smart. I put a video application on, so its at the bottom, but to view it you go up to the top. I will update that every once in awhile. Now I just have to put pictures up.

where did September go?

I can't believe September is almost over. i doesn't feel like it started! Okay, so whats going on in my life. Lets see, school is fine. already had a few papers to write and did rather good on them (pretty amazing accomplishment considering i didn't do so well last year, but it was the teacher) Last weekend, Brooke and Greg went to NYC leaving me to house-sit. It was nice to have a big house to myself, but that weekend it rained and got super cold. I don't know how to work the thermostat so i was freezing my buns off! one night i slept with 3 blankets and a sweatshirt. Other than that, i was a normal weekend. Plus i stayed home while mom and dad went to Hawaii, so this was nothing. mm, i got a new CTR ring. i out grew my other one, and its been on a chain in my car so it has changed colors from sun exposure.

Future events: Roger's wedding. that is coming up real fast. I'm excited because this will be the first wedding I've been to that is one of my siblings. Its what I get for being one of the youngest. I also get to see everyone there. I don't even remember the last time we were all together. With a big event like this, comes planning. We are leaving Friday and come back Sunday. Somehow Mom thought we were coming back Monday, which was the first i heard of it. I have school Monday, and don't want to miss anymore classes, so mom booked me a flight to come back Sunday. Then i was talking with Brooke when they got back and she said that they were coming back Sunday. Then we talked with Greg and said the same thing. And then after talking to Mom, we resolved it to me still having to fly back. So now I have to find a ride home from the airport. This is an example of bad communication.

Other exciting news, my VA check should be coming in soon. Yay for free money! Now I can go for another semester. In a couple of weeks I will be changing my phone service to verizon, so my number might change. If it does and you would like it just leave a comment or email me and I will get it to you.

The special surprise in the garage

i'm not sure if i'm suppose to talk about this, but im going to anyways. so since i've moved in, taylor has been non-stop about a dog. maybe a week later her wants a ripstick but that dog is still on his list. then two days ago brooke got an email about puppies for sale (i think, she only showed me the pictures) and yesturday greg got involved. now both of them have different views on how to live with dogs. greg doesnt want it outside, and brooke doesnt want it inside. but on with the story. so i woke up around 10am (haha, like 15mins ago) and go up stairs when the phone rings. its brooke's mom, sue, asking if brooke or greg is around. i check around and for brooke's car but no one is home. i hang up and go into the kitchen to put the phone away, when i start hearing this yelping sound. i'm think what the heck is that?? it sounds like a puppy......no, they wouldnt of.....follow the noise to the garage, and sure enough there is a puppy! now i'm not sure what they plan on doing with this puppy, but i know that i'm not cleaning up after it.

New Ride

I finally got a car. its a '94 Honda Accord, a nice shade of faded maroon, with a sweet LDSBC windsheild sticker i put on it (and soon a superman sticker). im having problems with my camera not liking the computer, so if you want a picture ask mom or brooke. i've had it for almost a week now. when me and greg test drove it, the A/C was putting out smelly smoke. we pulled over and popped the hood to see if it was the engine. it wasnt, so we just turned off the A/C. Greg researched it and found out that the a/c tank was going bad so it needs to be recharged or something. but it still smelled really bad, so i got fabreeze and car fresheners. i have to keep the a/c low or more stink will come out if im going over 60mph, which is most of time. (when im on the highway, of course!) i was also having trouble with the doors locking and unlocking, but my friends helped me solve that. i have a bad key, so i cant put it in all the way. the important thing is that it gets me from a to b.

1 week done, 15 to go

like i said, still getting into this whole blog thing. i guess you could say i like to keep you guys on your toes ^.^ so i finished my first week of school and my first weekend of work. i'll start with school because it is a much better subject. I went to orintaition the friday before school started and that was pretty fun. the best part of it was getting a whole new group of friends. and they are anna, keli, sarah, raylee, melissa, josh, brian, and tara. i meant to get pictures to put up but forgot. they all live in the dorms. i hang out mostly with anna, keli, and josh. its kinda hard since i live 30mins away and they are all right there. eventually i would like to move closer to school. i'm taking 5 classes. almost 6 cuz i joined institute choir. im looking into seeing if i can get credit for it. there is math, college writting, communication, computers, and book of mormon. im having a little trouble with my computer class because my username for the school network isnt working so i cant really do anything in there right now. im working on that too.
so i started at my new theatre on friday and i dont think i really like it there. i still like what im doing, but not how the place runs. on saturday i worked a 10hr shift and got one 30min break for the whole shift. thats not cool in my book and not to mention against the law (if im wrong correct me but so far thats what others have told me) one of the managers explained to me that you could either have one 30min break or break it up into two 15min breaks. i was pretty ticked for the rest of the night. i dont think its worth it anymore. so i think i'll be putting in my two weeks soon and go job searching. well, not much else to say. laters untill the next one which might be awhile
